Dear Friends of Vision;
Most every year in San Diego we experience a June gloom. The cloud cover is such that we don’t see the sun until the early afternoon. The negative of this for sun worshipers is they have to wait the morning out to get their vitamin D. For the rest of us, it is a cooler respite before the heat of the rest of the day.
I suppose our perspective on things often determines our interpretation and determines whether something is positive or negative…from our perspective or opinion. Well, my mom, who went to be with Jesus in August of 2002, had a favorite scripture…Ps. 118:24 “This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” This is often easier said than done, as was seen in my mom’s life and many of ours…but is nonetheless true. It is our choice to rejoice and be glad…June gloom can be a wonderful transition before the real heat of summer.
Tomorrow, June 4, I am off on a road trip to New Life City Church, in Safford, AZ to speak on Re digging the wells. This great church is pastored by Larry Semore and overseen by Dr. Phil Tutor. From there I head to Pasadena, CA for the annual Academic Council for Educational Accountability, which was founded by C. Peter Wagner. We are founding members, and I will be speaking on the topic of Curriculum development. Later this month, I am preaching for Imani Church of God in Christ in Temecula, Clairemont Christian Fellowship, and conducting a seminar on eating disorders and preaching in New Orleans for the Therapon Institute. A busy and hopefully productive month; thanks for your prayers.
Our Expansion on Two Fronts — Update
We continue to be challenged on many fronts, with the following as primary challenges and goals.
First is related to ministry challenges:
We continue in the process of working with California to regain our Religious exempt status with them, which will free us to do all God wants in California and beyond, and will not hinder our accreditation efforts. We have been rejected twice…but have at least found out what they need (a ridiculous typo on our Incorporation papers) and we are in the process of setting things straight. As of today, all has been submitted and we are hopeful for a clear, positive outcome soon…but please keep praying.
We still need to provide more resources for our international outreach, especially in Chinese and German, where we have some wonderful opportunities. Still pending!
Finally, we hope to make a major announcement regarding accreditation soon…stay tuned!
I want to thank you for your faithful assistance in giving as a Gideon 300 member…God is good…your gifts, whatever size, makes a difference…Blessings to you in Jesus wonderful name!
Yours in Christ,
Dr. Stan
