On Thursday January 26th M. Kelley and I were honored to represent Vision at the annual AGIF (Assemblies of God International Fellowship) National Conference on Mission Bay in San Diego, CA. There were many people from across the country and we even met a gentleman living in Vietnam. The subject of Vision’s presentation was, “Why Should I Author a Book?”
Some of the main points that were covered were:
*Not all authors are good writers.
*Anyone who creates content for sermons or bible study can create content for a book. The content can even be in audio form, such as sermon CDs.
*People can quickly forget the subject of a sermon or even a bible study, but books help us remember what our mind does not.
*We all have one thing in common, we are all communicators of God’s word.
*The revelation, the word, the song that God has given us to share with his people is a gift for the body. It is our responsibility to steward the gift appropriately.
*Some revelations and teaching can be beneficial to people around the world and even in the future when we have already gone on to be with the Lord.
*Books can go where we cannot, they are a lasting legacy for the generations to come.
Our mission is to “Take the Whole Word to the Whole World” but it is not the whole word unless you add your puzzle piece of revelation or teaching to the puzzle. Won’t you join us as we work together to bring it to pass?
Many aspiring authors approached us after the presentation to share their book ideas and thoughts on publishing. We hope to see many of those ideas in print in the future. We want to thank Pastor Steve Ekeroth, the Executive Director and all of the members of AGIF for providing us with a few minutes to share.
