Dear Friend of Vision,
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6)
I have often asked myself the question, how much of the work of the Kingdom is up to God, and how much is up to us? Certainly, in the scripture we see God acting, but usually with the cooperation of his chosen ones. Moses needed God, but in many ways, God needed Moses (or at least chose to choose him), David needed God, and God needed David, Paul needed God…well, you get the picture. Jesus is called Emmanuel, God with us…so we know that it is a partnership, the work of the Kingdom. If we were to state who is the most important part of the partnership between God and us, I/we would have to state categorically that without God, nothing much of lasting worth would happen, so we agree with Zechariah, it is by the Spirit, working through or in tandem with Spirit filled believers that the Kingdom expands, for the glory of God.
