Dear Friend of Vision
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. (Mt. 18: 1-3)
Being childlike in faith is a key to living life to its fullest in the Kingdom of God. Childishness of course is to be avoided. Sometimes there seems to be a fine line between the two. I often hear in Charismatic circles that God confounds the mind to reach the spirit…that you cannot trust your mind…but must simply rely on the wind of the Spirit.
Well, scripture teaches us (oh, and how does scripture teach/inform us…through our minds) that our heart/mind is deceitful and wicked, but a regenerated mind, a renewed mind is the desire of every saint, and it is the goal of every teacher to see his or her student’s minds brought into conformity with the word of God. We need Word and Spirit…childlike in faith means trusting God and his leaders, setting aside cynicism, and embracing the truth of God’s word.
