Dear Friend of Vision
“Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus was also baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.” (Lu. 3:21-22)
When the Father made this declaration over his Son…he ripped heaven open. He was so proud of his Son, that he could not help himself…he thundered…and all who were in the area heard the voice of God. As those in Christ, all that was declared over Jesus is part of our inheritance. God calls us his beloved ones. We are not “the Son”, but we are sons and daughters of God, and he is pleased with our being…maybe not always happy with our doing or thinking, which is why we need the disciplines of the Word, etc. But for certain, he is pleased with our being, and as leaders we need to also declare the end from the beginning in regard to our students and congregants. God is pleased with their being…and our goal is to help their doing to line up with their being, their life with the Word…easier said than done, but doable because th greater one lives in us.
