Dear Friend of Vision
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” (2 Co.3:17-18)
The reason we teach is to see students and parishioners change….be transformed. To be transformed is a work of the Word and the Spirit; living in the presence of the Lord and ingesting the Word of God and acting on it.It is not the responsibility of teachers or preachers to bring about the change, at least not solely. It is ultimately a work of Holy Spirit.
One thing that we as leaders can do is to encourage, even urge our students to look deeply, intently and sincerely into the face of the Lord. This might be accomplished through time spent in his word, in worship,or through meditation; trusting the Lord to do the work of transformation into the image of Christ. It is a process…one we must all choose to follow, but one that is imminently worth the effort as it leads us into deeper intimacy (glory) and greater freedom.
