One thing is certain about the church; Jesus loves His church, is building it, and requires that his children not forsake it for something else. In my years as a therapist, I have had to recommend that people leave a certain congregation due to its abusive or neglectful practices, but that is very rare. IN most cases, people need to stay and work out their problems in the midst of the community of faith called the church, as it is a part of the over all healing process for most. Church, in spite of its inconsistencies, problems and weaknesses is God\u2019s instrument for us to work out character, try out friendships, make mistakes and hopefully learn grace, mercy and love; characteristics often missing in the dysfunctional family a counselee might have been raised in. I highly recommend the church.
