This is true with children, adolescents and adults, in and out of church. In adolescence, we call this peer pressure, and subtle or not so subtle pressure to be like everyone else is evident amongst teens. But the peer pressure thing continues throughout life (just see how different folks dress in various churches and what happens in reaction when someone looks different). Of course, we are to be conformed to something, the image of Christ. That is, we need to allow the Holy Spirit to work His work in us, producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit or Godly character in us. We want that kind of conformity, while allowing for individual differences that might be unpleasant to us, but are not in conflict with God\u2019s word.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Word of God:<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Romans 12:1,2<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present our bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">2 Corinthians 6:14, 17, 18<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cDo not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership has righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? \u201cTherefore, come out from their midst and be separate,\u201d says the Lord. \u201cAnd do not touch what is unclean; and I will welcome you. And I will be a father to you.
