It is something committed into the care of another; charge. It is also reliance on something in the future; hope.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Brief Explanation:<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first verse I learned as a child after becoming a Christian was Proverbs 3:5, 6, referenced below; trust in the Lord. I suppose this was my first because I needed to learn to trust, and had such difficulty doing so. Trust is the first stage in normal human growth, and is a necessary component of any relationship. When violated, it is the most difficult thing to regain, requiring more than forgiveness, but a rebuilding of the trust lost.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Trust is lost if we have or perceived we have been betrayed. Notice I said that the betrayal can be real or perceived, but the result will likely be the same, a breaking of trust, which makes relationship so difficult.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since\u00a0\u00a0 most\u00a0\u00a0 clients\u00a0\u00a0 will\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0 issues\u00a0\u00a0 surrounding\u00a0\u00a0 trust, establishing trust with the client is an essential component of the therapeutic relationship, and must be established early and reinforced often. We do this through our attending to the client, listening carefully, following up with promises made, etc. Thus, building trust is a key for us to be effective as counselors.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Word of God:<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Proverbs 3:5,6<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTrust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Job 13:15<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThough He slay me, I will hope in Him. Nevertheless, I will argue my ways before Him.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Romans 8:37<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cBut in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Psalm 37:3-5<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTrust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord; And he will give you the desires of your heart.
