GIFTS FROM GOD

GIFTS FROM GOD

Definition (Gifts):

A gift or gifts are something that are bestowed voluntarily and without compensation. It is the act, right, or power of giving. Gifts are also talents, endowments, aptitudes, or inclinations of a positive and beneficial nature.

Brief Explanation:

Many people coming for counseling are unable to identify the gifts they have received from the Lord, whether natural or spiritual. In fact, all people are gifted in one way or another, and their very gifts can be strengths to help them in their time of trouble. Encouraging them to identify or helping them identify and use their gifts for problem solving or to serve others can be highly therapeutic.

The Word of God:

Acts 2:38

“Repent and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 1:11

“For I long to see you in order that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established, that is that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the others faith, both yours and mine.”

Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 12: 6

“And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them accordingly; if prophecy according to the proportion of his faith…”

1 Corinthians 12:31

“And there  are  varieties  of  effects  (gifts), but the same God who works all things in all persons.”

James 1:17

“Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.”
