WISDOM

WISDOM

Definition:

Wisdom is the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight.  It includes common sense; good judgment. It can be further defined as the sum of learning through the ages; knowledge, and includes wise teachings of the ancient sages.

Brief Explanation:

Knowledge gained leads to understanding, and understanding when applied leads to wisdom. The bible sees wisdom as something to be gained, to be bought, and to be held on to. It is essential akin to common sense, or knowing what to do and when to do it.

Wisdom is the practical application of biblical principles to life. Many clients will lack wisdom, which we are to ask for, in the Holy Spirit, and will have granted us if we take the time to know and understand the word of God, and are willing to walk in obedience to the word.

The Word of God:

Proverbs 1:7

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Psalm 1:1,2

“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night.”

Proverbs 3:13

“How blessed is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding.”

Colossians 3:16

“Let  the  word  of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
